After being waived by Pittsburgh and with a salary of $1.75 million, who wouldn't want to pick up crash-and-banger Mark Recchi?
The answer: apparently nobody. Although, it was announced today by TSN that Recchi is now on re-entry waivers a day after being assigned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre of the AHL.
I've been a life-long fan of Mark Recchi. He had some greats years, including 2 cups, over 500 goals, and could really help fill some voids up front in the Sens' lineup. Why not even as a rental for the rest of the season and Cup run. 3 years ago, Carolina rented him and Doug Weight, both of whom brought tons of experience and heart for a long postseason campaign and won a Cup.
