Russ Martin takes home hardware

Here's a good story coming out of the MLB today. According to TSN.ca, Canadian catcher Russell Martin won the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame's Tip O'Neill award - an award given to a Canadian player "judged to have excelled in individual achievement and team contribution while adhering to baseball's highest ideals."

Martin had a great year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, batting .293, with 19 jacks, and 83 RBI - good enough for his first All-Star Game appearance and a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger award.

He seems to be on his way to a great career in the majors. Let's just hope he's not a doper too...
