Weekly Roundup: Ducks add some Weight, "The Stomp", Sens beat ATL, McCabe breaks hand, Pettitte is lame, etc.

The Ducks have traded C Andy McDonald to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Doug Weight. Weight, who's 45 points shy of 1000 will likely move into the 2nd line center role, as McDonald and his next year salary of $3.3 million is too rich for Anaheim, especially with restricted free agent Corey Perry up for a hefty raise. The four big reasons why. (TSN.ca)

For some reason, Chris Simon is still allowed to play in the NHL. He's been suspended 6 times in his career, including a 25-gamer last year for a vicious slash on the Rangers' Ryan Hollweg. I'm hoping he's kicked outta the league after intentionally 'stomping' on Jarkko Ruutu's leg in a losing effort to the Penguins Saturday. (NHL.com)

It looks like Bryan McCabe is going to miss a few months with a broken hand. Breaking 3 bones in his left hand after being thrown into the boards by Habs forward Andrei Kostitsyn, McCabe is expected to miss upwards to 6 to 8 weeks. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for the Leafs. (Sportsnet.ca)

It was a beatdown in Ottawa last night at the SBP, as the Sens pounded Atlanta 7-3 outshooting them 44-25. Dany Heatley had his 3rd consecutive 2 goal game, giving him 20 on the year and already 200 in his career. Guys like him are the reason for terms like 'bulging the twine'. (Ottawa Citizen)

Andy Pettitte can spare us the crocodile tears and contrived 'regret' . A weak apology through his agent isn't going to be enough to get Andy Pettitte out of this mess. (New York Daily News)

The Odd Couple: Venus Williams and Hank Kuehne dating? Weird. As one commenter put it: "Jesus. A horse and an ugly chick. Hank and Venus have one more thing in common. The fact that they both have a penis." (The Big Lead)
